Butterfly incantor

feb18_07.jpg

The butterfly incantor is a simple music box with two additional wires soldered onto the breadboard. This alteration caused the demo tunes to basically run together. Instead of separate tunes when you press a button, you get a series of partial songs, interrupted by short breaks. Holding the bare ends of the two wires together garbles the sound. Grasping the ends with either hand (thus, in a sense, becoming part of the circuit) makes for even more interesting effects. Note: here's an example of what Reed Ghazala refers to as Bio-Electronic-Audiosapian (BEAsape).

This is just a sampling of "alien" instruments. Try circuit bending your own electronic audio toys, keyboards and the like. The possibilities are practically endless.
